Eid Mubarak to our UQ community! Muslims in Brisbane this time are divided into doing Eid on 3 different days! We wish we were united on one day! Please find below a list of the closest usual venue for Eid Prayer on each of the 3 days so you can join that venue depending on which day you are doing Eid. At UQ, we will continue to organise the Eid Prayer according to the local Australian moonsighting date as we have been doing for many years.

So, the Eid Prayer at UQ will be held on Tuesday 18th June 2024 at 7:20am at the usual Eid Prayer venue (please see next).

Eid-ul-Adha Prayer 2024 at UQ

Date: Tuesday, 18th June 2024.

Venue: Level 4, P3 Multilevel Car Park, (ie Building 98B), Sir Fred Schonell Drive, St Lucia. {Our Usual Eid Prayer Venue}

Takbeer Time: 7:00 am
Prayer Time: 7:20 am sharp inshaAllah

Important Notes:

  • Please bring your own prayer mat & foldable chair to sit if you need one.
  • If you choose to bring your child to Prayer, please you MUST keep the child next to you the whole time for safety. Otherwise, as per safety requirements, you will not be allowed to Uni venue in future.
  • Due to exams, we will start on time inshaAllah, so please arrive on time.

Conditions of Entry

  1. Parents are responsible for the safety of their children while at this event venue.
  2. Parents MUST keep their children by their side until they leave the event location.
  3. If any children are found unsupervised at any time during the event, this is in breach of safety requirement for the university.
  4. One of the organisers will speak to the parent, write down their name and ID, and take a photo of the parent and they are not allowed to attend with children in the future.
  5. It is the responsibility of each person to look after their own personal items. We will not be held responsible for any loss or damage.
  6. No chair are available for the prayer at the venue. if you need a chair to pray on, please bring a chair with you.
  7. Please abide by instructions given by volunteers on the day.
